Balboa Peninsula ~ Newport Beach

The Peninsula stretches for three-miles between Newport Harbor and the Pacific Ocean. It’s famous for “the Wedge” - one of then world's best body-surfing sites – as well as "Ocean Front Walk" – one of California's most popular boardwalks. At the foot of Newport Pier sits the historic McFadden Square - named in memory of the city's founding family.  At the pier's Dory Fishing Fleet Market you can buy fresh seafood brought in daily by local fishermen.

About one mile south of Newport Pier is another village area known as Balboa Pier. Near Balboa Pier you can also find the Balboa Fun Zone and the historic Balboa Pavilion. Catch the Balboa Ferry for a few bucks to take a short boat ride over to Balboa Island. The ferry from Balboa Pavilion can also take you to Catalina Island in just 45 minutes for a day of fun in the sun.
